Moon Dental has been bringing a smile to the faces of locals for well over 50 years. Originally opened in the mid-1950s, run by Dr Iain Chalmers and Dr Robert Phillips in the 1970s, then Tim O’Neill in the mid-2000s, it is now run by director and lab technician Han Moon, since April 2011.
Han works with a team of two dentists, and six other staff members – some of whom have been working at the surgery for over 30 years. The business provides general and cosmetic dental services to patients. It also provide all denture-related services which are done on site. With the advantage of a lab on site, Moon Dental can provide same day denture services, even while patients have a check-up in the chair.

The business itself has been an integral part of Nowra since its opening. “We dedicate ourselves in maintaining consistent care to our patients as Bob, Iain and Tim would have,” Han said. “Our staff have been here since those days and we take pride in providing friendly and professional care with the familiar faces our patients have grown accustomed to. It is a very special feeling to see our patients and their families return with the next generation and the next.
“It is a privilege to work in an area where people are easy going and relaxed. It is a great environment to work and play and I guess it rubs off on everyone you meet and adds to the enjoyment of bringing back smiles.”
