In his two Sheffield Shield matches this summer for Victoria, the Bomaderry High School alumnus has scored 250 runs at an average of 83.33 - including a dominant 128 at the MCG against NSW.
The 29-year-old, who's played three Tests for his country, is joined in the 12-person Australia A by Victorian teammate Scott Boland.
Rounding out the squad, which was announced on Wednesday, is Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Alex Carey, Henry Hunt, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Matt Renshaw, Mark Steketee and Bryce Street.
This side will take on the Australian side in an intra-squad in Brisbane from December 1-3, before battling the English Lions from December 9-12 at the Gabba.
