The news is hardly surprising with the heavy rainfall the region has seen over the past few days, and with only further rain projected it made the most sense to cancel.
This decision was made in conjunction with advice from Shellharbour City Council and Shoalhaven City Council.
With the amount of rain the fields have copped to start the year, many of the teams have barely found any time to get on the field and practice in general, with clubs such as Jamberoo not even being able to put up goal posts yet.
Group Seven thanked the individuals who had put forth the greatest effort in trying to make sure these games went ahead.
"Group seven would really like to thank those home clubs...who have spent countless hours on the phone and emailing to try and get these games going, but unfortunately mother nature won this time," they said.
The team at Group Seven remain positive though, writing on their social media;
"This is just another obstacle that we will proactively navigate to ensure we get a full season of Rugby League back in our communities."
"We are committed to adapting where we need to do so we can achieve this outcome."
The matches that were set for round one have been deferred to the Washout Round on July 30 - 31.
The senior competition will not kick off after Easter on the weekend of the April 23 - 24.
