The young track and field stars of the Shoalhaven have had a blistering hot 2022 season with a wealth of achievements earned by the youngsters across the board.

The 2022 track and field season drew to close last Sunday with the Australian Championships, where the young guns of the Shoalhaven once again showed out.

Max Marshall who's had a fantastic 2022 campaign kicked off the nationals program for Nowra.
Marshall competed in the U15 100m where he continued his dominance winning his heat in 11.48, he then went on to secure the silver medal in the finals with a race time of 11.54.
He also contested the U15 200m where he again won his heat, clocking a race time of 23.29. In the final Marshall showed out, winning gold alongside a shiny new PB of 22.96 to become the U15 200m National Champion.
Nic McGill ran the race of his life in the U15 steeplechase event to claim silver in 6.42.67 which was a massive 17 second PB for the young McGill.
Kynan Miller competed in the U15 para shot put and secured a bronze medal with his throw of 4.34m.
In the U15 para discus Miller claimed forth place with 14.56m.
Akala Miller put forth a great effort in her sprint events. She finished third in the U20 para 100m heat and finished sixth overall in the final with a time of 15.80. In the 200m Akala was fifth in her heat with a time of 35.37.
Tom Duncan finished 13th in the U16 steeplechase event in 6.49.62 whilst Harrison Baxter was 12th in the U17 event with a new PB of 6.59.02. Also contesting this event was pocket-rocket Emily McLaren who finished seventh in U15 event with a time of 8.12.30.
Amelia May competed in two events at the National Track and Field Championships, placing tenth in the U17 1500m and 12th in the 3000m, finishing as the highest ranking NSW athlete in both events.
Samantha Peace made a great return to National competition, as she finished fourth in the preliminary rounds of the open discus with a throw of 47.92m. Peace finished eighth overall in the final round.
Former Nowra Athlete (Now with ACT Athletics) Cam Musgrove contested the Opens 800m and placed 18th overall from a field of 32 high-class experienced athletes.
