He was selected in the NSW team for these championships after taking home a bronze medal in the NSW junior points championships and a second position in the Sydney cup wheelrace.
Curtis began the high level event with the 100 lap junior points championship which is a 25 km ride.
He was first over the line in sprint four which secured him five points, the young athlete than picked up another point courtesy of a forth position in sprint six.
Curtis entered the final ten laps with six points and well away from a medal position so he knew that he needed to step it up.
He took control of the field with nine laps remaining, establishing a break that he continued to build on as the race inched closer to the end.
Curtis' determination and focus took over as he drove himself hard to the finish line, he succeeded and was first over the line securing double points in the final sprint.
This finish was extra important as it gave him enough points to move into third position and claim the bronze medal behind riders Tyler Tomkinson (Queensland) who won gold and Cameron Rogers (ACT) who notched the silver.
His next point of call was the U19 omnium championship, which is a series of four races that each account for separate points followed by the U19 individual pursuit championship which takes place over a distance of 3000m.
Curtis rode strongly in both events, even securing a personal best time in the 3000 metre event by four seconds, but overall came fifth in the final positions.
He will now return home to train and plan for the remainder of the 2022 season.
Congratulations to Curtis on his achievements.
