After playing a 13 hour game of golf that raised thousands for cancer research, a group of Shoalhaven locals are ready to tee up and do it all again this year.

CEO of the Shoalhaven Ex-Servos Group, Bernie Brown, raised $16,000 last year during the Cancer Council's The Longest Day fundraiser and as a club, Worrigee Links raised $44,000.
While Mr Brown said completing the 72-hole golf marathon was a challenge, it came with its perks, including raising money while watching the sun rise on the first hole.
"I think just about everyone's been been touched by cancer in some way, shape, or form and to be able to participate and raise funds doing a sport that you enjoy was a win across all those areas," he said.
"We were on the first tee as the sun was coming up. It was great watching the sunrise up over the golf course and through the dairy farms.
"But come round two or three after a few more hours on the course, it became a bit of a challenge."

This year the fundraiser will be held on December 13.
