NSW Health has been notified of a number of new casual contact venues of concern associated with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
The alerts include -
The South Coast Train Line - From Mortdale to Bomaderry Station - Friday, July 30, 2021, 11:55am to 2:17pm.
Anyone who travelled on this service is a casual contact and must get tested and self-isolate until they receive a negative result. If you were on this service less than four days from the date of exposure you must get another test five days after you were there.
Wear a mask around others and limit your movements until you get another negative result. You should continue to monitor for symptoms and if any symptoms occur, get tested again.
Anyone who attended the following venues at the times listed is a casual contact who must immediately get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.
The Nowra NAB Bank - 56 Kinghorne Street, Nowra - on Friday, July 30, 2021, 2:50pm to 3:05pm.
NSW Health advises that people who visited NAB Bank in Nowra and have no symptoms, do not need to isolate while waiting for their test results. However, you must follow all other health advice for a casual contact.
Kiama Woolworths - Kiama View Shopping Centre, 143 Terralong Street, Kiama - Friday, July 30, 2021, 5pm to 5:15pm.
Also listed is -
Unanderra Bridgestone Tyres - 159 Five Islands Road, Unanderra - Tuesday, August 3 2021, 10:30am to 11:30am.
There have been active cases of COVID-19 in these areas, but the district is asking the community to act at the first sign of symptoms in case the samples are an indication of other, undiagnosed cases.
The NAB in Nowra was closed earlier this week for a deep clean after being confirmed as a location linked to a known case of COVID-19.
An Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) spokesperson confirmed the case on Tuesday, August 10, with a Facebook post and a text message to bank staff revealing the Nowra branch had been closed for two days to undergo a deep clean.
"We can confirm the location is linked to a known case and urgent case investigations are underway," the spokesperson said.
It was also revealed on Thursday, August 5 fragments of the COVID-19 virus were detected in samples from the Bomaderry sewage treatment plant, whose catchment serves 18,000 people in the suburbs of Bomaderry, Cambewarra, Cambewarra Village, Meroo Meadow and some parts of North Nowra.
Meanwhile, a former prisoner at the Nowra Police Station who later tested positive to COVID-19 case at the Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre at Silverwater has now been reclassified as a false positive.
South Coast Police District Commander, Superintendent Greg Moore confirmed the case was a false positive on Tuesday, August 10.
The 36-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, July 29 and taken to the Nowra Police Station, with health authorities revealing he had tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, August 4.
But that has now been revealed to have been a false positive reading but the Nowra station still underwent a deep clean procedure.
