A former prisoner at the Nowra Police Station who tested positive to COVID-19 case has now been reclassified as a false positive.

South Coast Police District Commander, Superintendent Greg Moore confirmed the case was a false positive on Tuesday, August 10.
"The case has been confirmed as a false positive," he said.
"It is encouraging that we have managed to hold back the tide of COVID to this point."
Asked when the South Coast Police District were notified about the false positive, Superintendent Moore said NSW Health were the lead agency responsible for that data.
NSW Health have been contacted for comment.
The Nowra Police Station underwent a deep clean after a prisoner who was in custody two weeks ago tested positive to COVID-19.
The 36-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, July 29 and taken to the Nowra Police Station, with health authorities revealing he tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, August 4, at the Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre at Silverwater.
A police spokesperson said the man was arrested at a home at Nowra and charged with domestic violence-related offences and all officers involved in the incident were wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
"He was transferred into the custody of Corrective Services NSW and returned a positive result after undergoing a test," a NSW Police spokesperson said.
The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District confirmed the case was a positive in a statement saying, in the 24-hour period to 8pm Wednesday, August 4 there was one new COVID-19 case identified by NSW Health.
