The club's victory came in the under 23s match, as the Blaze won 57-54, to clean sweep the season series after downing their rivals by nine goals in round four.
The match began with a goal for each team but the Blaze were the first to take the lead after the defenders took an intercept and the score went 3-1.
Smart passing choices by Bronnee Loy (wing-attack) saw the Blaze extend its lead to 9-5.
The Fury pegged back a couple of goals following an unfortunate shot by Ky-Mani Schwenke (goal-shooter).
The Blaze again turned over the ball through a Selene Chadrawy (centre) footwork error but Emily Dunn (goal-attack) took a spectacular mid-court intercept and scored to make it 11-7.
Abbey Baker came on as centre with the score at 13-10.
Jessica Bowden's (goal-defence) strong rebounding skills helped keep the Fury from getting in front, as South Coast led 15-12 at the first break.
The Fury scored from an early second-quarter turnover but Bronnee Loy (wing-attack) threw a rocket pass into Ky-Mani Schwenke (goal-shooter) who scored - followed in quick succession by Emily Dunn (goal-attack) to restore the lead to three goals (18-15).
Mia Evans came into the match in goal-attack and Selene Chadrawy returned at centre.
South Coast continued to maintain its three-goal lead but could not extend it.
Aimee Landrigan subbed on as goal-keeper with five minutes remaining in the first half.
Schwenke was called for a holding contact which gave the Fury a turnover to level the score at 26-all.
Evans scored a long swish shot to take a one-goal lead and Annalise Chadrawy (goal-keeper) forced an offensive contact by the Fury's goal-shooter to deny them a levelling goal on the buzzer, as the Blaze led 27-26 at half-time.
Following the half-time break, Chloe Burden started as goal-keeper and Emily Dunn returned but in the wing-attack position.
The Fury came out firing and took an early 31-29 lead.
Abbey Baker returned as wing-attack 10 minutes into the third quarter and Emily Dunn moved back to goal-attack.
Goal-defence Jessica Bowden's intercepts helped the Blaze catch back up at 32-all.
A Fury footwork call gave the Blaze the turnover they were seeking, but they, unfortunately, lost it in the shooting circle.
Bronnee Loy returned in the centre position and immediately took a mid-court intercept, however, the Blaze were again unable to convert it into a goal.
Annalise Chadrawy came back as goal-keeper with two minutes remaining.
Neither team could break the deadlock until Jessica Bowden (goal-defence) and Annalise Chadrawy (goal-keeper) combined to get an intercept and Emily Dunn (goal-attack) scored with one second to go, to give South Coast a one-goal advantage heading into the final term.
The Blaze's line-up remained the same to get the fourth quarter underway and they scored the first goal, taking the score out to 41-39.
The Fury defenders were focusing their attention on Ky-Mani Schwenke (goal-shooter), but this simply allowed Emily Dunn (goal-attack) to score the goals instead.
Another Fury footwork error gave Schwnke the chance to convert the turnover, which she did, and scored again quickly to make the score 47-43.
Momentum was with the Blaze when Selene Chadrawy returned as wing-defence.
A Fury held ball penalty saw Schwenke score another two quick goals to extend the lead to six (50-44).
Sharnee Behr subbed on as wing-defence with six minutes remaining.
Some unlucky mistakes from the Blaze saw Fury reduce the deficit to just four goals before Annalise Chadrawy (goal-keeper) drew an offensive contact from the Fury's goal-shooter to give the ball back to the Blaze and the score back to 53-47.
The Fury made a late run and brought the margin down to three (54-51), but in the end, the experience and maturity of the Blaze players saw them remain calm and take the win by three goals.
Unfortunately, this was the only victory for South Coast on the night, as the open's side went down 74-49.
The Blaze, who without the service of defenders Kayla Johnson and Peti Talanoa had the first centre.
Kristina Brice (goal-shooter) scored the first goal of the game, taking Blaze to a 1-nil lead early in the match.
The Fury intercepted the ball in the Blaze's goal circle and converted to take an early 3-1 lead.
Tegan Holland (goal-keeper) took a spectacular intercept shortly after and Brice rewarded to steady the score at 5-3.
The Fury nabbed another break thanks to some unlucky passes from Blaze to extend the score to 6-3.
The Blaze defenders came away with another intercept, with the ball sent down the court at speed and Shelby Mallon (goal-attack) scored a long swish goal to make it a one-point game at 6-5.
Tegan Holland (goal-keeper) showed solid rebounding skills to keep the Blaze in touch, but a held ball penalty to Taylah Davies (wing-attack) gave the Fury a further break and saw the score creep out to 10-6.
The Blaze's defensive combination of Tegan Holland and Te-Arn Bradley did their best to get turnovers, but Kristina Brice (goal-shooter) was struggling with shooting accuracy and couldn't convert those turnovers.
The Fury got on a run with increased defensive pressure and accurate shooting and the lead quickly blew out to 20-10.
Brice scored a goal just before the break to cut the deficit to nine.
Abbey McFadden was injected into the game as goal-attack for the second quarter, with Shelby Mallon replacing Kristina Brice at goal-shooter.
McFadden's speed in and around the goal circle sparked a resurgence in the Blaze players and they quickly fought back to just a six-goal deficit (25-19).
Te-Arn Bradley (goal-defence) took a huge intercept but an offensive contact penalty against Taylah Davies (wing-attack) saw the ball back with the Fury, who scored to make it 27-19.
Elecia Parrott (wind-defence) claimed a flying intercept on the circle edge, but the ball was lost in the mid-court and the Fury scored for 28-19.
With five minutes remaining, Brice returned to goal-shooter.
Lauren Russell was brought on as goal-keeper and Tegan Holland moved out to goal-defence.
Russell made an immediate impact with an intercept allowing the Blaze to stem the flow of Fury goals.
The second-quarter goals were level, with the half-time score being 33-24 to the Fury.
Half-time saw a couple of changes for the Blaze, with Chaise Vassallo making an appearance at centre and Te-Arn Bradley back on at goal-keeper.
The quarter began with teams going goal-for-goal before Abbey McFadden slipped over and was replaced by Shelby Mallon in goal-attack.
Mid-court defensive pressure from Taylah Davies (wing-attack) and Chaise Vassallo (centre) forced the Fury to throw the ball over the sideline but the Fury then intercepted Vassallo's pass and took the score out to 37-27.
Mallon missed the next goal and the Fury capitalised, extending its lead to 11.
Tegan Holland (goal-defence) claimed another intercept, with Kristina Brice (goal-shooter) scoring from a precision pass in from Vassallo.
She scored again quickly to bring the score back to 38-29.
From here on in, the third quarter went downhill for the Blaze.
Brice missed another goal and the Fury scored two in succession to make it 42-29.
Brice was then penalised for an offensive contact and the Fury scored another two.
Dani Di Bartolo was brought on to replace Brice as goal-shooter with six minutes to go in the third quarter.
Katelyn Anderson returned at centre with four minutes remaining but it did little to help stop the slide.
Miscommunication in the attacking end saw the Fury create turnovers and the score quickly blew out to 51-31.
Taylah Davies (wing-attack) and Elecia Parrott (wing-defence) hustled in the mid-court to get turnovers but the margin remained at 20 (52-32) heading into the break.
The fourth quarter began with Kristina Brice back on as goal-shooter and Shelby Mallon as goal-attack.
Despite some handy connections between Brice and Mallon and some defensive prowess from Tegan Holland (goal-defence), the Fury continued to extend its lead.
Chaise Vassallo replaced Davies at wing-attack with six minutes remaining.
Dani Di Bartolo came on as goal-attack and Lauren Russell as wing-defence with close to five minutes left in the game and the Blaze went on a four-goal run but it proved too little, too late, as the Fury won by 25.
Both Blaze sides were scheduled to play the Panthers this Wednesday but with the COVID-19 enforced lockdown, all Netball NSW competitions in Sydney have been postponed until further notice.
