A health alert was issued late last Tuesday after confirmation a man with COVID-19 from Melbourne had visited Jervis Bay, Hyams Beach, Vincentia, Goulburn and Gundagai on holidays in May, while potentially infectious.
It was later revealed the family of four had all tested positive to the highly contagious Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus, which is the dominant strain found in India and increasingly in the United Kingdom.
Gnomic testing has linked the West Melbourne Delta cluster to a man in his 40s who arrived from Sri Lanka on May 8.
Increased pop-up testing sites were set up in the Shoalhaven at Nowra, Huskisson and Vincentia along with already established testing sites.
More than 2350 people were tested locally up to Friday, with a further 700 tested over the weekend.
The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) has thanked the community for their continued commitment to having a COVID-19 test.

ISLHD Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery, Deborah Cameron said it was terrific to see high testing numbers continue over Saturday and Sunday.
"It was extremely important that we increased testing in the local area following the public health alert that a confirmed case of COVID-19 from Melbourne had visited Jervis Bay, Hyams Beach, Vincentia and Goulburn in May, while potentially infectious," Ms Cameron said.
"Our teams quickly expanded opening times at existing clinics and established additional testing sites with the support of local pathology providers to ensure the community could access a test as quickly and easily as possible.
"Thank you to everyone that responded quickly to this call out and came forward for a test during the past week."
Local residents in the Huskisson/Vincentia area wanting to get tested for COVID-19 can attend the Huskisson drive through clinic at Park Street, or the pop-up clinic at Nowra Showground, which will both remain open until further notice, including over the long weekend.
To find all the local testing clinic locations and up-to-date opening hours visit the district's website at www.islhd.health.nsw.gov.au
The Vincentia pop-up drive-through clinic ceased testing services on Monday, June 7.
"Testing data has shown that more people are choosing to attend the drive-through clinic at Huskisson, so the Vincentia clinic will be stood down for now," Ms Cameron said.
"However, we have capacity to quickly reopen the Vincentia clinic at any time, should the need arise."
The community is reminded to remain vigilant for COVID-19 symptoms and to get tested for even the mildest symptom, which can include cough, runny nose, fever, breathing difficulties, sore throat, loss of smell or taste and fatigue.
Anyone who has visited the locations listed in NSW Health advice is urged to get tested immediately and follow the instructions related to the location.
