The scoring at Bill Andriske Oval took less than two minutes to get started, as the visitors shifted the ball to the left, following an offload by Juville Samui.
This created an overlap, which saw back-rower Anthony Nabbe sprint 50 metres before offloading to his teammate inside Chanse Perham to score.
Nabbe converted the four-pointer for 6-nil.
Three minutes later, the visitors had their second, when heads-up play by fullback Jimmy Scott put winger Ben Weatherall into space down the sideline, before the latter acrobatically evaded two defenders to score - to make it 10-nil.
But the Dogs weren't going down without a fight, as they hit-back through skipper Blake Mackey, who intercepted a Scott pass before sprinting 80 metres to score.
Forward Tom Woodward converted and it was 14-6 after 31 minutes.
In the last play before the break, the visitors extended their lead.
After Walsh-McKiernan kicked the ball through, Zaan Weatherall regathered it after a Gallagher knock-on, which allowed Trey Barlow to eventually put Harris over to score.
The five-eighth converted his own try after the bell and the lead was 14 at half-time.
Much like the first 40 minutes, it took little time for the Rays to trouble the scorers, as Jake Kamire's strip on Mackey led to Ben Weatherall's second four-pointer - 90 seconds after the resumption.
Then in the 69th minute, Weatherall completed his hat-trick after his centre Walsh-McKiernan broke the line, raced 60 metres and found his towering winger backing up on the inside.
Harris converted from close range and it was 30-6.
Minutes later, following strong work by Zaan Weatherall and Samui, youngster Barlow dived over for his first try in the top grade.
Harris converted, as the lead grew to 30 points.
The match was iced in the final minute when Harris sliced through the Dogs' tiring defensive line.
Ben Weatherall converted, as the Rays, who had both Jake Bonicci and Travis Barrett make their first grade debuts, ran out winners 42-6.
The Reh brothers side will attempt to win their third straight game next Sunday when they host Kiama at Flinders Field, while the winless Dogs take on Gerringong at Bill Andriske Oval.
