THE Bay and Basin Bombers have finally wrapped up their massive season on the footy field.
The Bombers under 11s team were victorious against the Ulladulla Dockers in their recent grand final at Nowra's West Street Oval.
The final score saw Bombers (10.2-62) defeat the Dockers (4.5-29).
The game was extremely close between both teams until the final quarter when the Bombers ran away with the win.
This is the second premiership win for superstar coach Justin Gouin, who also coached the under 11s premiership-winning team in 2018.
This inaugural event was hosted by AFLSC to celebrate the players, volunteers and coaches from the 2020 season and crown this year's award winners.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the presentations were held online this year.
Despite the restrictions, the online event was still highly anticipated and the Bay and Basin Bombers were able to secure both the under 11s and under 13s Best and Fairest Awards.
Cooper Malmborg took out the Best and Fairest title in the under 11s age group with a whopping 23 vote,s which was 17 votes ahead of the runner-up.
This is the second year in a row that Cooper has won the under 11s Best and Fairest Award.
Oliver Driscoll won the under 13 Best and Fairest Award with 19 points - a clear nine-point lead over the runner-up winner.
Other Bombers to poll strongly in their respective divisions included Ella Fegent (runner-up under 15 girls), Taj Malmborg (third in the under 13s), Isaac Parrish and Morena Margione (equal fourth in the under 11s) and Jasmine Griggs and Eva Gautier (equal sixth in the under 15 girls).
Finally, the Bombers, once again, had a number of their players who were selected into the GWS Giants Academy team for 2020.
These players included Oliver Driscoll, Jake Griggs, Jack Hewson, Jed Snelling, Taj Malmborg (all under 13s), Cade Missingham, Cameron Softley (both under 14s) and Keanu King (under 15s).
The participants were involved in weekly training sessions held at the Nowra Showground throughout the season, which culminated in a massive day of footy held on September 30 at Batemans Bay's Hanging Rock Oval.
All players showed great class and dedication throughout their involvement with the academy program and are an asset to the Bay and Basin.
