At the Bernie Regan Sports Complex, the hosts won the toss and sent Ex-Servos to the crease.
This proved to be the right decision by skipper Tyson, as Norths, who currently sit in third, rolled the visitors for 125, from their 35.5 overs.
Tyson was the chief destroyer, taking 6/23 from his 8.5 overs - including three maidens.
The other four wickets were shared by Damian Spelta (1/13), Ben Seyffer (1/15), Tobias Hanger (1/21) and James Biggs (1/52).
In reply, Norths reached 6/64 at stumps on day one.

Five of Norths' batsmen fell cheaply but Tyson (27 not out) and Paul Davidson (18) dug their heels in, to keep Norths in the match.
Gary Fuss and John Guscott were the stars fore Ex-Servos, taking four and two wickets respectively.
Tyson will be joined by Zachary Blackwell (one not out) in the middle when play resumes.
At Sanctuary Point Oval, Bay and Basin, who currently sit in first place on the ladder, are on the verge of claiming first innings points against last-placed Bomaderry.
After being sent in, the Tigers reached 84 before being dismissed in the 53rd over.
Anthony Johnston (26), Harrison Graham (17) and Jackson Ingram (10) were the only three Bomaderry batsmen to reach double figures in the first innings.

With the cherry, both Troy Cole (3/7) and Liam O'Brien (3/10) took three wickets for the Dolphins - while Michael Dolby (1/15) and Nathan Thorn (1/30) claimed one scalp each.
In response, both Basin openers Michael Burgess (44) and Tom Mason (21) made strong starts, before three quick by Johnston saw the Tigers fightback - to reduce the Dolphins to 4/74 at stumps.
Johnston finished with 3/13 for Bomaderry, while captain Mathew Bell took 1/23.
When the Dolphins, who need 11 runs for first innings, resume, Thorn (two not out) and Brad Miller (zero not out) will be at the crease.
The final match of the round was played between second-placed Batemans Bay and fourth-placed Sussex Inlet at Hanging Rock.

With the ball, Bay was best served by Darcy Knight (4/15), James Dickinson (3/21) and Tony Dcosta (2/24).
In reply, Bay slumped to be 4/64 at stumps - with only Clint Pearce (25 not out) and Daniel Smith (20) offering any real resistance.
Both Troy Gillespie (2/11) and Lachlan Adlington (2/16) have two wickets each for Sussex, while Mitchell Davis has 1/11 so far.
