Mayo's men's team opened their tournament with two losses; the first against Russia's HC Dinamo-Ekaterinburg (4-1) and Belarus' HC Minsk (6-3).
On day two, the Aussies broke through for their first win, downing Russia's HC Dinamo-Ekaterinburg (4-3).
But their joy was short-lived, as dropped their fourth match to Russia's National Team of Moscow Region (4-1).
These four pool results put the green and golds into the firth-place playoff, which they lost 10-2 Russia's HC Dinamo-Elektrostal AFHMR.

The tour also involved the Australian under 21 women's team, who finished fifth after edging out Russia's National Team of Moscow 2-1 in their final match.
