SHOALHAVEN Heads' Kyah Gray and her Australian open women's indoor hockey team have kicked off their tour of Austria, with an opening round win at the Vienna Indoor Classic tournament.
Prior to starting their campaign, the Australians played SV Arminen in a warm-up match, where a goal in the 15th minute by their opponents was enough to separate the two sides, as it ended 1-nil.
Gray's side then defeated Thailand 2-nil in their opening match of the tournament, thanks to goals from Kelsey Hughes and Caitlin Burns.
The Aussies will look to build on this win during the November 3-10 competition.
