Over the years the event has raised funds to purchase an oven for the centre, and last year's went towards an ultrasound machine.
This year's proceeds may go towards towards specialised equipment which will be used for radiotherapy treatment.
Maryanne Rinks from the Shoalhaven Cancer Care Centre thanked everyone for organising another fund-raising day.
The cancer centre has been opened six years and performs 6000 patient services per month. Maryanne said the centre has recently started new clinical trials.
The radiation therapy section has its first patient undertaking specialised treatment with sophisticated equipment which attacks legions in the brain.
This technique reduces the treatment time from several weeks to just a few days. Patients have previously had to go to Sydney for this treatment and the centre can now offer specialised treatment in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven health district.
Event organisers thanked the many sponsors and players who embraced the fundraiser.
The two person Ambrose golf competition results are:
- Mixed and Overall winning team, Karl and Olivia Fretwell (61.5 net strokes);
- Mens team winner, Phil Behan and Evan Norris (62 net strokes);
- Ladies team winner, Marilyn Schott and Robbie Chapman (68.75 net strokes).
