The man, driving a Holden Stateman first came under police attention in Riverview Road near the Shoalhaven River, in the early hours of Saturday, November 23.
Police in the area noticed the vehicle around 1.20am and after directing it to stop, it initially slowed and then allegedly sped off.
A police pursuit started with the vehicle travelling east along Terara Road and Comerong Island Road.
A number of police cars were involved in the pursuit which continued south onto Jindy Andy Lane.
One witness described the noise of the chase like "a supercar going past".
"The only sound I've heard similar was when the tornado hit Terara a few years ago," the witness said.
Police said the vehicle was being driven at excessive speeds, far higher than the signposted limit.
The chase continued onto to Greenwell Point Road where the vehicle headed west back into Nowra before it came to a stop near the Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen's Sports Club at Worrigee.
The man was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station and charged with a variety of traffic offences including police chase, not stop driving recklessly under Skye's Law.
He appeared before a special sitting of Nowra Local Court on Saturday morning and was refused bail.
He will reappear in Nowra Local Court today, Monday, November 25.
