EIGHTY-FOUR of Australia's top grommets, including Culburra Beach's Keira Buckpitt, got a taste of what the Yorke Peninsula has to offer with two days of pumping surf at the famous Chinaman's surf break.
The weather and surf played their parts, delivering two days of solid and sometimes challenging surf conditions.
During the event, Buckpitt competed in the 14 and under girls section, finishing third behind South Australia's Maia Taite and Victoria's Sasha Pancic - while edging out New Zealand's Anna Brock.

The other five champions crowned at the weekend included Byron Stapleton (16 and under boys), Lily MacDonald (16 and under girls), Ruby Berry (12 and under girls) and Fletcher Kelleher (who won both the 14 and under boys and 12 and under boys).
Fellow Culburra Beach products Owen and Tyler Wright, as well as Gerroa's Sally Fitzgibbons, are former winners of Gromsearch events.
