The match will be the last trial fixture for the Brumbies before the second season of the Super W competition kicks-off in a fortnight’s time.
Brumbies coach Alan Butt has named a 33-player squad for the trip, to face a team the Brumbies defeated in both matches they played in 2018.
After swamping the Rebels 70-5 in a pre-season trial, scoring 12 tries in the process, the Brumbies claimed an inaugural Super W win against their Rebels’ rivals.
Darcy Read, Remi Wilton, Tayla Stanford, Shellie Milward, Louise Burrows and Talei Wilson also crossed for tries at AAMI Park in March last year, as the Brumbies recorded a 37-8 success to keep alive their Super W finals prospects.
Having been defeated by a strong New South Wales outfit, captained by Vincentia’s Ash Hewson, in their opening trial match last week in Bowral, the Brumbies will be hoping for better luck in Albury.
Brumbies squad: Peta Cox, Louise Burrows, Violeta Tupuola, Emily Sogal, Shellie Millward, Michaela Leonard, Georgia O’neill, Tayla Stanford, Jane Garraway, Carly Hill, Biola Dawa, Michelle Perry, Rachael Crothers, Paremo Marsh, Ngawai Eyles, Harriet Elleman, Stephanie Stewart-jones, Anna Korovata, Grace Kemp, Sharyn Laws, Remi Wilton, Emily Mcdonald, Darcy Read, Paige Penning, Kristie Mathews, Irene Macarthur, Sammy Maxwell, Claudia Obst, Brooke Gilroy, Lanieta Yabaki, Jacky Lyden, Rachele Brown and Sammie Wood.
