It may have only been a trial match, but the Waratahs ran in 12 tries to one, as they thumped Bomaderrys Harriet Elleman and the ACT Brumbies 74-4.
In the win Crystal Maguire bagged a hat-trick and Mardi Watts a brace, while Hewson scored one try and landed three conversions.
Hewson and her team will now look ahead to the season opener on Saturday, February 23, where they will travel to Canberras GIO Stadium to again face the Brumbies acting as a double-header, with the Brumbies mens team to face the Chiefs in round two of Super Rugby.
Following a bye in round two, Leichhardt Oval will host the first of the NSW Womens teams two home matches, against 2018 beaten finalist Queensland Women on Sunday, March 10.
The Tahs will then travel to Perth to battle the RugbyWA Women for the first time, at Curtin University on March 17.
The last home game is at Bathursts Anne Ashwood Park against the Melbourne Rebels Women in March.
The Super W 2019 season will also see an additional finals match, with a grand final playoff between the second and third-placed teams on the table, who will clash for a spot in the decider against the first-placed side.
