Hundreds of brave souls queued up outside the store on Kinghorne Street, from as early as 6.45am to grab the best bargain in time for a winter jaunt to the ski fields.
Nowra’s Lisa Hess along with other members of her family, was first to arrive at Aldi before the store opened at 8am.
“We were here last year and we were about third in line that time,” she said.
“We’ve got two people and two trolleys.
“It started with just getting things for our daughter then the whole family jumped on board.”
Some news outlets even took steps to advise their readers how best to survive the ordeal, among their top tips – drag along reinforcements and divide and conquer.
The sale is without a doubt Aldi Australia’s biggest of the year.
