The group were also representing the three principles of the Olympics - culture, environment and sport as they carried the Olympic flag.
Last year Barron won a competition, sponsored by UNICEF Australia, the UN and Nickelodeon, and was selected to represent Australian children at the United Nations Special Session on Children in September.
Although his trip to New York was cancelled due to the events of September 11, he will be attending the rescheduled summit in May this year.
Marketing director Nickelodeon Rosie Gray-Spencer said Barron has worked on a number of UNICEF projects since last year.
"The people at UNICEF thought he was the ideal candidate to represent the Oceanic region.
"He genuinely represents the spirit of the Olympics, he is an extraordinary individual and a fantastic champion for Australia, the UN and Nickelodeon," she said.
"Barron was due to take part in a Nickelodeon television program however he had to fly to Salt Lake City, so his sister Harriet went on the show instead.
"It was quite funny we had Harrie on Australian wide television and Barron on international television," Ms Gray-Spencer said.
