Don's team earned his way into the finals after defeating John Mussig's team also by a narrow margin.
This set the scene for a great match and spectators were not disappointed.
The game was anybody’s with the score at 6-all on six ends before Don got a break and led 15-7 on 11 ends.
Andy's team fought back to catch up on the 17th end, the score 18-all.
Andy's team scored a single on the next end but to no avail, Don's team took the next three ends to win the match and the championship, 23-19.
Congratulations to all the finalists on a fine game.
Minor Pairs
Round two and three of the Minor Pairs was played last weekend, taking the competition into the semi-finals this week.
On Saturday Max Watt and Glynn Owens defeated Barry Hollands and Ian Angus. On Sunday Dean Atkinson and Herman Egbers defeated David and Justin Murphy. The semi-finals will be played on Sunday at 1pm.
Dean and Herman to play Jamie and Os Turner jnr; Tom Beaton and Peter Bone to play Max Watt and Glynn Owens.
Monthly Triples Results
Another successful tournament was played last week in glorious weather.
The results are a s follows:
1st: Herman Egbers, Reg Mahy and Bill Taylor with 3 wins + 29
2nd: Eric Massingham, Ken Laidler and Errol O'Leary with 3 wins + 28
3rd: Tony Howe, Bill Evans and K Lewis with 3 wins + 15 (24 ends)
4th: Col McCarthy, Brian Warden and Andy Jobson with 3 wins + 15 (20 ends)
5th: Os Turner, Pat Duke and Geoff Walker with 3 wins + 12.
The next monthly triples will be conducted on September 17.

Wednesday Jackpot Triples
The winners were George Kerrison, Henry Ison and Andy Jobson with +17, runners-up Bruce McMahon, Tom Beaton and Peter Bone with + 14.
Frank Birtles, Norm Jorgenson and Errol O'Leary won vouchers and the jackpot was not won.
Friday Jackpot Pairs
The winners were Russ Clanfield and Ernie Thompson with + 27, runners-up were Eric Massingham and Bill Groenendyk with + 14.
Rob Evison and Reg Simpson won the vouchers and the jackpot was not won.
Sunday Mixed Pairs
The chook winners were Val Coller, Col Poulton and Glad Smith.
The draw has been done for the Mixed Pairs, the first round to be played on or before September 9.
