A man has died after the plane he was flying crashed near Western Australia's border with South Australia.

Emergency services were called to the crash in the Caiguna area, some 500 kilometres east of Esperance, about 9.30am on Friday.
The pilot of the Cessna aircraft, a man aged in his 40s, died in the crash.
There were no other passengers in the plane.
Investigations are ongoing, but police will prepare a report for the coroner.
