The Milton Show Committee met last night [Tuesday, April 19] and had to make a difficult decision.
"We cannot run a show because the ground is still too wet - it's just too wet for horse events, for example," President of the Milton Show Society Ken Leslie said.
Mr Leslie said it would be terrible if a rider or a horse was injured due to the wet and slippery Milton Showground surface.
If the ground was damaged, the Milton Show Society would also have to pay for the repairs.
Mr Leslie said after one show they were left with a $7000 repair bill and they cannot afford such costs.
The show was originally planned for Friday, March 4 to Saturday, March 5 but was postponed due to extreme weather that lashed the Milton and Ulladulla area.
The event was then rescheduled for Friday, April 29 to Saturday, April 30 but will not go ahead as planned.
It will return next year - bigger and better.

Mr Leslie said the show was still very much an important part of the community.
"Lots of people were looking forward to the show," he said.
Ideally, they would have liked to hold off on making such a decision but given the forecast for more rain, which followed a heavy storm last night [Tuesday], a decision had to be made immediately.
Mr Leslie said the August winds would have helped dry the ground, but they could not wait until then.
He explained the company that supplies the show's rides and amusements was due to start trucking things down tomorrow [Thursday, April 21] and they needed to be informed of the decision before they hit the road.
The popular Pavilion events did go ahead in March which was strongly supported by the community.
Mr Leslie said they appreciated the support and all the positive feedback they received from the Pavilion exhibits.
