Until 2018 NSW had a requirement for all aged care facilities to have a registered nurse on-site 24/7.

The NSW LNP government voted to remove this requirement.
Not having a registered nurse on the premises puts both the residents and the carers and nursing assistants at risk.
It results in more residents being transferred to our overstretched emergency departments, which can result in stress and confusion for them and it puts pressure on the carers and nursing assistants to work outside their scope of practice.
The Labor Party has promised, that if elected, they will make it a requirement for all aged care facilities to have an RN on the premises 24/7.

Planning questioned
The Scoping Report for Nowra hospital's development, planning 2.5 states, locating Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital will be "to activate Nowra City Centre".
That is deplorable, putting the business community ahead of Shoalhaven's health requirements.
Nowra hospital already has Nowra's share of beds.
The $434 million should be spent where it is needed - Bay and Basin, the largest NSW population without a hospital. Entitled to 90 public hospital beds.
And Milton Ulladulla entitled to another 25 beds.
Viability of Nowra CBD has nothing to do with the hospital; the hospitals been there for 71 years, Nowra CBD has been in decline for 40.
Nowra's decline is because of poor planning.
Today, shopping centres are professionally managed, but Shoalhaven City Council, responsible for many retail districts, has no designated shopping center managers.
When a few councilors occasionally wander around and make from-the-hip decisions is not good enough.
For years Nowra CBD's business community, has been asking for more parking.
Other villages have angle parking, double the spaces, while Nowra uses the world's most inefficient system, parallel parking.
The council's trying to implement a very expensive 30-year-old planned multi-storied car park and introduce paid parking.
If that dinosaur succeeds, it will sound Nowra CBD's death knell.
Google, "What makes a shopping Centre successful". Strategic location, good shopping centre design and layout, wide-ranging tenant mix, sufficient parking space and efficient promotion and marketing strategy.

No longer the lucky country
Over the past 30 years, from 1992 to 2022, the Liberals have claimed Labor had higher unemployment, higher interest rates, and higher electricity prices than under a Liberal Government.
As we have just heard, the wholesale price of electricity has risen by 141 per cent since this time last year. Morrison can't blame this on Labor because it happened on his watch. on the interest rate rise, the RBA sets it, not Morrison or Labor. Don't lay the blame on Labor. Out of the last 30 years the Liberals governed for 20 of them, Labor only 10.
What did they do in that 20 years that benefitted our country? Sweet nothing!
The source for these claims came from the Federal Budget, RBA and ABS, say no more. Propaganda powers on as usual.
The cost of living has spiralled out of control. Families can't afford to buy food. A wealthy country in third world standards. Poverty in the 21st century is unacceptable and it's all under Morrison's watch.
They say history always repeats itself. Just like Nero did, he played the fiddle while he watched Rome burn. Morrison sat sipping drinks on holiday in Hawaii while he watched Australia burn. Do you call that being a good leader?. He's all self.
