Alan Clark's book On This Day In The Shoalhaven features a fascinating collection of historical events from the region dating back to 1811.
For every day of the year, the book features between two to three separate events of history that have taken place over the last 200 years.
"We are naturally curious, and I think most people will turn the page to find out what happened on their birthday," said Mr Clark.
For Mr Clark, if he had been alive in 1896, history shows he would have been born on the hottest day in Milton's history with temperatures rising to 46 degrees Celsius with bushfires raging all around the area.
Mr Clark has an impressive catalogue of historical publications that cover a wide array of different topics from the Shoalhaven region. He has also started compiling a comprehensive history of the Nowra Show leading up to it's 150th show.

Mr Clark had a stall set up at the show on Friday where people could come visit and speak to him about his works and the history of the Shoalhaven in general. His catalogue of work will also be available to purchase at the show on Friday and Saturday.
"Whatever your interests are, there's a huge range of bizarre anecdotes that will appeal to people," he said.
In the past Mr Clark had compiled another book that had detailed an event from every year. With the greater resources now at his disposal, he was finally able to truly put together a comprehensive list of historical events and oddities from the Shoalhaven from all 366 days of the year.
He has a personal collection of over 50 books that detail the regions past as well that he as his own personal database that he has been compiling for the past 30 years to help him research and construct each of his works.
"My personal favourite event in the book happened on February 1934 where a sealed bottle was thrown off the Nowra bridge into the Shoalhaven River and 15 months later it retrieved from Honolulu Harbour," he said.
This event is just one of many interesting and odd events. Pick up a copy of the book this weekend, have a chat with Mr Clark and learn about the regions expansive history.
