Emergency services were called to the home in Scenic Drive, adjacent to the Nowra Aquatic Park, at 6.34am.
Despite the efforts of Fire and Rescue NSW crews Shoalhaven 440 and Nowra 405 the unoccupied home was destroyed in the blaze.
Shoalhaven Station Officer Ian Walters said the home was well alight when fire crews arrived on scene.
"The home was well alight when we arrived, with fire confined at that stage to the front of the house," Station Officer Walters said.
"Crews from both stations fought the blaze, with personnel also conducting a search of the home as the property was being extinguished.
"Thankfully there were no people at the property or on the site."
The home is occupied but the resident was not at the property at the time.
Station Officer Walters said the remainder of the fibro home suffered "smoke damage" and was "totally destroyed".

"The cause of the fire is under investigation," Station Officer Walters said.
"We believe the fire started in the front lounge room of the property, but the cause is yet to be determined."
NSW Police and NSW Ambulance personnel also attended the scene as did Endeavour Energy crews who isolated the electricity supply.
Investigations into the blaze will be led by the Fire and Rescue NSW Fire investigators with the help of a fire accelerant detection dog from Sydney and NSW Police forensic officers.
The fire was fully extinguished by 8am with the property placed under police control.
The house has been cordoned off until further investigations can be carried out later this morning, and there are concerns over the home possibly containing asbestos.
It is understood the property is a Department of Housing home.
