Parsons produced a solid effort for Greater Illawarra and along with his normal strong batting was also called onto bowl on occasion.
Greater Illawarra played North Coastal in its first match and suffered a loss.
North Coastal made 228 in its innings while Illawarra made 197 with Parsons chipping in with 10 runs.
Illawarra, in game two, played and lost to ACT Southern Districts.
Parsons, who has played in the Shoalhaven District Cricket Association ranks for many years, sent down three overs, without taking any wickets, but helped his team restrict Southern to 6/94.
He opened the innings and made 15 runs with two boundaries but Illawarra could only make 81 runs in total.
The local junior would rather forget the match against Western.
He made a duck, his team was all out for 8/66 and Western made 6/68.
Success finally came Illawarra's way against Central Northern and Parsons did well with both bat and ball.
He made 15 runs with two boundaries to help Illawarra reach 181 and then took a wicket as his team restricted Central Northern to 65 runs.
Illawarra then finished off the tournament with victory over Newcastle and Parsons was out in the middle when the winning runs were hit.
Newcastle made 166 runs in the first innings and Illawarra got the points with 5/167.
Parsons made an unbeaten 24 runs with two boundaries.
