The Nowra Show Society were thrilled to receive over $43,000 to go towards this year's show, especially after the 2021 show was cancelled due to COVID.
"It just takes the pressure off us that we are able to provide safety and good resources for everybody, and get the show to run smoothly," said secretary of the Nowra Show Society, Sue Hammond-Warne.
"It pays for us to have equipment for COVID like first aid, marshals wiping things down, automatic hand sanitizers, setting up QR codes.
"It's very exciting seeing as last year's show didn't go ahead."
The Nowra Show's main attractions will include a rodeo, Ron McKinnon's Bullock Team, ARD motocross and camel races.
Kiama MP Gareth Ward announced the funding on Thursday, under the NSW Government's $5 million Country Shows Support Package.
"It has been a tough few years for country shows, with drought, bushfires, storms, floods and COVID-19 disrupting plans," he said.
"But as they say, the show must go on and this funding will help make that a reality for these local agricultural shows."
The Berry Show Society also received $45,000 and the Kangaroo Valley Show received $30,000 as part of the funding.
The dates for the upcoming shows are as follows:
- Berry Show: January 28 to 29
- Nowra Show: February 4 to 5
- Kangaroo Valley Show: February 11 to 12
