The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) confirmed 94 new cases were recorded in the Shoalhaven in the 24 hours to 8pm Monday.
Most of the cases are located in the 2539 postcode with 32 residents diagnosed with COVID, followed by the 2540 postcode with 30 new cases.
Twenty one of the new cases reside in 2541, nine in 2535 and two in 2538.
The ISLHD reminds that postcodes for confirmed cases are provided only as a guide for the community living in those areas that COVID may be circulating in their suburb.
Individual suburb breakdowns are not provided as it "does not accurately reflect where cases may have been during their infectious period".
Overall numbers for the local health district have increased with 535 new cases recorded in Monday's update, up from 398 from the previous day.
Most of the cases are in Wollongong which detected 304 new cases, nearly double the amount of cases from the previous reporting period.
Shellharbour recorded 103 new cases and Kiama, 34.
It is possible that Sunday's lower case tally is a reflection of a drop in testing due to the New Year's day public holiday.
The cases were diagnosed from 96,765 tests processed in the 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday, a rise of 2516 from the previous day's tally.
There has also been an increase in people in NSW hospitals with the virus, with 1204 currently in hospital, an increase from 1066 the day before.
As at 8pm, there were 29 patients in hospital in the local health district as a result of COVID-19 (this total may include patients who are no longer COVID-19 positive).
NSW Health said testing capacity was currently under enormous pressure and the only people getting a PCR (nose and throat swab) should be those who have COVID-19 symptoms; live in a household with a confirmed COVID-19-positive case; or have otherwise been advised by NSW Health to get tested.
