JBT has been in a declared State of Emergency since the beginning of the Delta-variant outbreak in May.
The extension grants members of the JBT Emergency Management Committee and emergency services with additional powers to protect people living in JBT with risks associated with COVID-19.
The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications said it will ensure the community is protected and supported with the health and wellbeing of the community the first priority.
The announcement comes after no new COVID cases have been detected in the Shoalhaven since Saturday, December 4, when one new case was recorded.
The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District recorded a dozen new cases in Tuesday's update.
Eight of these were Wollongong residents who tested positive to the virus, with three in Shellharbour and one in Kiama.
JBT residents are advised to follow government advice on travel restrictions, health, hygiene, physical distancing and self-isolation.
