Reigning IAS basketballer of the year Braydan Daly, Oliver Driscoll (who is also part of the IAS' Aussie rules system) and Billy Piggot will return to the program during the 2021-22 season, while Layla Volpatti and Harry Frew are involved for the first time.
"It's really exciting to see more Tigers selected for the scholarship in 2022," Shoalhaven Basketball Association chairperson Rachael Martin said.
"It shows that SBA's commitment to developing players of all ages and abilities is paying off.
"We're really proud of these young players who are chasing their basketball dreams with the IAS."
To gain selection, all five had to apply in writing with their on-court accomplishments over the past 12 months.
While the returning trio was selected on past performances, the latter two had trials and a round of interviews last month - which they passed with flying colours.
The quintet will now take part in weekly training sessions at the University of Wollongong, strength and conditioning workouts and a range of development activities around topics including finance, media, nutrition.
They will also compete at the Academy Games, which will be held in Wagga Wagga in April.
