Months of being stuck on the sidelines due to COVID-19 came to an end over the weekend, as competitors made a triumphant return to racing at the annual Huskisson Triathlon Festival.

The two-day event's marquee race, the standard solo triathlon was taken out by Kurt Fryer and Lisa Marangon respectively, in wet conditions on Sunday.
Fryer won the men's race, consisting of a 1500-metre swim, 40-kilometre bike and 10-kilometre run, in a time of 1:53:53, just ahead of Josh Woolridge (1:57:10) and Matt Godkin (1:58:58).
While Marangon took women's line honours, in a time of 2:14:25, from Danyella Eberle (2:16:11) and Laura Brown (2:18:33).
Not to be outdone were winners of the sprint solo event Mitch Cunningham and Jordyne Rauter.
Cunningham finished the Jervis Bay course in 58:17, easily accounting for Luke Jones (1:05:29) and Samuel Lewis (1:07:06), while Rauter's 1:11:25 was enough to take first place - edging Erin Hargrave (1:11:56) and Halle Potter (1:15:28).
In the super sprint solo, Kyle Mason (29:47) claimed the men's gold in front of Gregory Hesse (31:27) and Tommaso Cornelius-Feltus (31:37) - an accomplishment matched by women's counterpart Grace Henry (29:39).
Rounding out the women's top three were Mercede Cornelius-Feltus (30:55) and Montana Doubell (31:21).
In the aquabike competition, Brodie Talbot (1:21:42), Luke Healy (1:34:58) and Mark Preston (1:37:35) finished on the men's podium, with Sally Kehoe (1:42:27), Emily Swales (1:42:32) and Angela Gates (1:42:50) securing the women's top-three spots.
The Elite Energy-run event, consisting of close to 3000 participants, also featured a 'try-a-tri' division, three different relay competitions, four ocean swims and the annual Huskisson Running Festival, which was postponed from August and featured 2km, 5km, 10km and 21.1km (both as individuals and teams) distances.
Saturday's men's half-marathon was won by Barry Keem (1:16:13), ahead of Tommy Goodall (1:18:26) and Sam Quinn (1:19:09) - with Claire Rayner (1:23:13), Katie Mahoney (1:24:57) and Michelle McAdams (1:26:51) taking out the women's top-three.
Wrapping up the weekend's results are the ocean swims, which consisted of four distances, ranging from 500 metres to 5km.
The latter was taken out by Benjamin Wainman (men's) and Sally Wood (women's) - who stopped the clock in 59:22 and 1:13:41 respectively.
Jake Andrews (59:26) and Hunter Kelly (59:30) were second and third in the men's, while the women's podium was rounded out by Jasmin Petty (1:16:40) and Sharon Crisafi (1:16:53).
