Six Shoalhaven residents have tested positive COVID-19 overnight with the source of infection for four of these cases under investigation.
The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District confirmed three cases are located in the 2541 postcode and the other three in the 2540 postcode.
In the 24 hours to 8pm last night, the ISLHD recorded 15 new COVID-19 cases, almost double yesterday's numbers.
Wollongong recorded five new cases, as Shellharbour and Kiama both recorded two new cases in Wednesday's update.
There have now been 2,391 local cases of COVID-19 in the ISLHD since the start of the current outbreak in June.
NSW Health has not listed any new Shoalhaven venues as COVID exposure sites overnight.
The state's numbers have jumped back over 300, with NSW Health reporting 305 positive cases and three deaths.
There are now 418 people in hospital statewide, with 97 requiring intensive care.
93.2 per cent of people aged 16 or older have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in NSW, with the double dose figure sitting at 85.5 per cent.
