Wayne Jones is a community hero - just ask Melissa Johnson and her twins Rohan and Ross Johnson.
"A big shout out to Wayne Jones and his clever toy monkey - the best garbo in the world," Melissa said.
"My "twinnies" were blessed by the generosity of Wayne and his colleagues at Suez recently when they were gifted 'little garbo' high-vis work shirts."
Rohan and Ross will be turning three-years-of-age in January and Wayne is sure to get a piece of birthday cake from his two little fans.
Seeing Wayne and his truck makes the "twinnies" and many other children in the Ulladulla area happy.
"Lockdown has been tough with toddlers, watching the trucks has been a highlight since they were tiny babies, but now my boys see that real heroes don't wear capes, they wear yellow shirts and spread kindness with a wave and smile every week," Melissa said.
It appears Wayne has fans all over the region.
"My 20-month-old loves the garbage truck as well, it's the highlight of his Monday," another parent said.
"Wayne is a lovely man and is always so happy to show him the monkey and give him a smiling wave.Thank you, Wayne! Let's just say he wanted to sleep in his new shirt last night."
Wayne was summed up as a true champion.
Even the Mayor of Shoalhaven City, Councillor Amanda Findley is a fan of Wayne's work.
"Aww the twins look so stoked and how good is Wayne? I loved going out in the truck with him and can't wait to do it again - might have be next year though when all the COVID-19 stuff dies down a bit," the Mayor wrote on Facebook.
