South Coast MP Shelley Hancock, said she was delighted to see plans for the hospital were progressing and included a specially designed new home for the community preschool.
"The new preschool will be a bright and contemporary community early education centre that meets the National Quality Standards for children aged between three and six years of age," Mrs Hancock said
Mrs Hancock said the Shoalhaven Hospital Redevelopment project team was working closely with the preschool to plan, design and construct the service to meet the needs of children, their families and staff.
The preschool will remain operational at its current location until the new one is completed.
Shoalhaven Community Preschool Director, Kate Morris has welcomed the opportunity to be part of the design and construction process.
"The relocation of our service is a great opportunity to design a preschool that addresses the specific needs of our community," Ms Morris said.
In addition to the new preschool, the southern end of the campus will also be retained as greenspace - enhancing the area's family-friendly atmosphere.
Construction on the new Shoalhaven Community Preschool is scheduled to start in 2022
The master plan for the Shoalhaven District Hospital was announced last month. More information about the Shoalhaven Hospital Redevelopment can be found here
