In early September, officers from Lake Illawarra Police District began an investigation into the alleged assault of a man by a serving police officer while on duty.
Following inquires, the 44-year-old male senior constable - attached to a command in the Southern Region - was issued a court attendance notice (CAN) for common assault on Tuesday, September 28.

The officer's duty status is currently under review.
