Regular beachgoer Malcolm Garder said the ramp in front of the Shoalhaven Heads Surf Lifesaving Club on Seven Mile Beach had been completely washed out.

"The timber ramp which used to lie on the sand to get emergency vehicles down to the beach has been eroded so much it now looks like a ladder," Mr Garder said.
"The surf's been up again since, so it's really hard to take photographs now as the surf's up over the rocks. It's the worst in decades.
"Talking to locals they say 1974-76 was the most extreme they've seen," he said.
"It got worse over the past two or three days; the surf's subsided a bit now. It's about 20m from the surf club."
