ONE of the region's major vaccination centres is now in a position to offer people more Pfizer injections - but after some recent unsettling incidents, the centre is reminding the community to treat staff with respect.

Dr Jessie Hoang of Ulladulla Endoscopy and Medical Centre says Pfizer doses allocated to the Vaccination Centre are now being increased to 900 per week from a previous 600 and a major Pfizer injection clinic will be held on August 28 in addition to the weekly afternoon Pfizer clinics.
Dr Hoang said the centre is particuarly busy on Mondays when they open up for new Pfizer appointments but staff were left rattled this week by certain members of the public.
"It is not acceptable for people to yell and scream on the phone or to come into our surgery and yell at staff to put pressure on them for a Pfizer appointment," Dr Hoang said.
"Members of our staff were left very shaken on Monday. They have been working under extreme pressure to look after the community for a long time. "
While they're at times stretched to their limits, Dr Hoang reminded the community they're here to help.
"We ask that the public respect our staff and help us do our job so that we can get out of this pandemic together. We continue to try our best every day. " she said.
"We give out the vaccines as soon as they arrive and do not hold onto them. "
Pfizer appointments are available for eligible persons and can be made by phoning the Ulladulla Endoscopy and Medical Centre on 4455 5422. (Documentation required for 12-39 year olds)
Children 12 to 15 years who have an increased risk of severe COVID-19 implications are now eligible for Pfizer vaccinations. These conditions include asthma, diabetes, obesity, cardiac and circulatory congenital anomalies, neuro developmental disorders, epilepsy, immunocompromised and trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome).
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 12-15 are also eligible.
People aged 16 to 39 can check their eligibility for the Pfizer vaccine at https://www.health.gov.au/initiatives-and-programs/covid-19-vaccines/getting-vaccinated-for-covid-19/covid-19-vaccination-program-for-16-to-39-year-olds
People aged 40 to 59 years are eligible.
People 60 and over are encouraged to book their AstraZeneca vaccine online at www.hotdoc.com.au or by phoning the Centre.
Walk-ins are also accepted for the AstraZeneca Vaccine between 8.30 and 11.30am from Monday to Friday..
The Ulladulla Vaccination Centre is located right alongside the Ulladulla Endoscopy and Medical Centre at 111 Princes Highway, next to The Plaza Shopping Centre. Entry from Boree Street Car Park.
