The Melbourne Storm lock forward, originally named as the Blues' 18th man on Sunday, will come into the match-day 17, alongside Gerringong's Tariq Sims, after Newcastle Knights enforcer Daniel Saifiti was ruled out through injury.
The latter hurt his rib cartilage during the Knights' big 38-nil win against the Cowboys on Saturday night.
NSW coach Fittler admitted during the side's Monday media session that Blues doctor Nathan Gibbs advised him that Saifiti would not be right to play next Wednesday.
This will likely see Broncos prop Payne Haas join the starting side, with Finucane promoted from the reserves list to the interchange.
Finucane, who has been capped for the Blues on four occasions, was NSW's 20th man for game two at Suncorp Stadium.
