The NSW Local Government Excellence Awards celebrate outstanding achievements across Local Government that promote innovation and improvement within the community. Shoalhaven City has been named a finalist in the following categories:
- Community Partnerships - Shoalhaven City Council's Walking on Country
- Connected Communities and Regions - Incident Reporting System
- Customer Experience - Libraries in Lockdown COVID-19 Program
- Disaster Recovery/ Emergency Response Management - Shoalhaven Bushfire Recovery Action Plan
- Innovative Leadership - COVID Safe South Coast Campaign
Shoalhaven City Council CEO Stephen Dunshea has commended Staff on their innovation during what was a trying time.
"I am very pleased to see Shoalhaven City named as a finalist in multiple categories. I firstly would like to commend staff on their adaptability over the last year as we faced multiple unprecedented events," said Mr. Dunshea.
"These shortlistings demonstrate our continued commitment to provide innovative and important services to the community.
"To be showcased as a top Council in NSW and have our projects from a range of areas within Council recognised not only on a State level, but also nationally, is a wonderful achievement.
"I would like to congratulate the dedicated staff for their significant work in continuing to make the Shoalhaven the best place in NSW to live."
An award dinner will be held in Sydney on Thursday, June 3.
