A promising sign for the Shoalhaven after it was thrown into COVID alert on Wednesday morning after reports a Melbourne man and now his family, that visited the area from May 19-24, having since tested positive to the virus.
More than 1,000 COVID tests were carried out in the Shoalhaven at the various sites on Wednesday.
NSW Health continues to monitor the situation and further local results as they come to hand.
NSW Health has contacted 517 people who attended exposure sites in NSW. None have tested positive to date, which is an encouraging sign.
NSW Health says two new overseas-acquired cases were recorded in the same period, bringing the total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 5,401.
Overall there were 18,672 tests reported to 8pm Wednesday night, compared with the previous day's total of 21,551.
NSW Health administered its highest-ever number of vaccines in one day, giving 14,595 vaccines in the 24 hours to 8pm Wednesday, including 5,496 at the vaccination centre at Sydney Olympic Park.
The total number of vaccines administered in NSW is now 1,377,812, with 461,855 doses administered by NSW Health to 8pm and 915,957 administered by the GP network and other providers, to 11:59pm on Tuesday, June 1.
A list of exposure sites in Hyams Beach, Jervis Bay, Vincentia and Goulburn was released on Tuesday night. That list has grown, with the addition of several exposure sites in Huskisson and Gundagai.
Further venues of concern associated with confirmed cases from 19-24 May while potentially infectious.
If you attended these venues at the times listed you should get tested and isolate until you receive further information from NSW Health:
- Green Patch campground, Booderee National Park, Village Bay Road, Jervis Bay, Wednesday, May 19, 4pm - Monday, May 24, 9am
- 5 Little Pigs, Shop 4-5, 64-66 Owen Street, Huskisson, Friday, May 21, 8am-11.30am.
- Huskisson Treasure Chest, 74 Owen Street, Huskisson, Friday, May 21, 11.30am-12pm.
- Coles Vincentia Shopping Village, 21 The Wool Road, Friday, May 21, 12-1pm, Saturday, May 22, 12pm-1pm (in addition to previously announced times below).
The same advice applies to anyone who attended the exposure sites previously announced:
- Crooked Goose Cafe (formerly Hyams Beach Cafe), 76 Cyrus Street, Hyams Beach - 10am-12pm, Sunday, May 23.
- Green Patch campground, Booderee National Park, Village Bay Road, Jervis Bay - all day Sunday, May 23 through to 9am, Monday, May 24
- Coles Vincentia Shopping Village, 21 The Wool Road, Vincentia - 12pm- 1pm, Sunday, May 23.
The timeframe, which was originally 23-24 May, was expanded as household contacts of the original case have now also tested positive and their potential infectious period includes additional days in NSW.
If you were at any of the venues at the times listed, please immediately call NSW Health on 1800 943 553, get tested and isolate until you receive further information from NSW.
Health is continuing to investigate the movements of these cases in southern NSW, and this list of venues may be updated.
Anyone who lives in Jervis Bay, Vincentia, Huskisson, Hyams Beach, Goulburn or Gundagai, or has visited these areas since May 19, is asked to be especially vigilant for even the mildest of cold-like symptoms, and is urged to come forward for testing immediately if they appear, then isolate until a negative result is received.
Additionally, anyone who has recently had symptoms should also get tested.
