Shoalhaven City Council have supported Councillor Bob Proudfoot's request for staff to write to several ministers and shadow ministers seeking their public support for a Nowra bypass.

As part of his notice of motion, Cr Proudfoot wanted staff to deliver an additional request to NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian asking her to consider the inclusion of significant Nowra bypass funding in the next state budget.
The next state budget date is yet to be communicated but it is typically handed down in mid-June.
The motion was carried unanimously at the Ordinary Meeting on Tuesday, May 25.

"We need to keep this firmly in front of our politicians and keep it on the agenda, especially with the state budget only a few weeks away," said Cr Proudfoot.
He called on council to lobby politicians in order to get enough funding for the initial stages of the bypass including pre-planning and corridor planning.
The letters will include previous council resolutions and correspondences that have been initiated this year.
The letter to be sent to NSW Minister for Transport and Roads Andrew Constance will include a congratulatory paragraph regarding his recent public statements in support of the Nowra bypass.
It will also ask Mr Constance to invite the Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack to meet with Mr Constance at Shoalhaven City Council in the near future.
And a similar letter will be sent to NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional Industry and Trade John Barilaro.
