The two musicians, who spend their weekends playing gigs at pubs across the South Coast, had excitement in their eyes as they explained their next big step in their career.
"We've signed onto an American record label," said Emma.
"We normally do live acoustic sets on Facebook and Atlas Star Records actually reached out to us and we had a look into it."
"They were interested in what we were about and everything from our new name, the logo and tour dates started rolling on from there," said Dylan, finishing Emma's sentence.
Permitting the state of COVID-19, the two are scheduled to fly over to America in May 2022 to tour in places like Nashville, New Orleans, New York and Texas.
While they both didn't expect to be signed onto a label so early into their music careers, playing shows in the US is a dream they've both held since they were young.
"Being able to perform in places I've dreamed of, like the Bluebird in Nashville for instance which is a legendary place for country music artists, with my partner is going to be incredible," said Emma.
"All of my blues idols are from New Orleans, so we're hitting two birds with one stone with our childhood dreams," said Dylan.
Emma, 22, has a penchant for country music, whereas Dylan, 21, explains he is more of a mixed bag, dipping into genres like indie, blues and even heavy metal.
Bringing their different styles to the table allows them to experiment and form their own unique genre.
"We're both shown each other different sides of the industry. I never thought I'd be going to country music festival but I've grown a respect for the genre," said Dylan.
"Even though I'm able to express myself with country music, I feel as a couple we can express ourselves even more without being tethered to one genre," said Emma.
Over the last eight months, the pair have performed as Emma Jene & Dylan Norris, but a part of signing onto their contract meant they needed a new name. They settled on Love & Able.
"The label requested us to make our own duo name, which we were excited about, but ended up sitting in the car for six hours trying to decide!" said Emma.
"We were rolling off names on the way to a country music festival. And as a partner, I always call Emma 'love,'" said Dylan.
"We're kind of old fashioned," Emma chimed in.
"And Emma's always the one pushing me and saying I'm always able to do things. And I said 'what about Love & Able?'" said Dylan.
"We sat on it for a day and after the festival, we decided we liked it. And our managers did too."
The two met when Emma was searching for a guitarist to help her out with gigs. After "connecting instantly", the couple now live together, run their own cleaning business on weekdays, and spend their weekends playing local gigs.
"it's been beautiful making music with not only my best friend, but my partner as well," said Emma.
Asked whether they ever get sick of one another, they said their music only brings them closer and that honesty is the key to making it all work.
"We have our ups and downs because we're human, but we're a bit of an unstoppable force," said Dylan.
"We get to express ourselves better through music and we're a good soundboard for one another. If something isn't working in a song we're working on, we don't hold back, because then it helps it become something more incredible," said Emma.
For now, Emma and Dylan are working on their first album, which they hope to release a couple months before their tour. Yet fans can keep an eye out for a single release this year.
