The remains of the late Commander Kenneth Barnett OAM and his wife Rita Barnett, OAM have been committed to the sea off Jervis Bay from an MRH-90 helicopter from 808 Squadron at HMAS Albatross.

The couple's ashes were released from the aircraft over the spot where Commander Barnett's brother, Lieutenant R.W. Barnett died off Jervis Bay on May 3, 1951.
LEUT Barnett died when the 808 Squadron Sea Fury aircraft he was piloting crashed on take off from the aircraft carrier, HMAS Sydney.
