Members Pat and Keith Poynter, who are well known in the croquet community, and highly respected within the Nowra club, had a special visit at the Bomaderry greens from their son David who is set to take part in the Shitbox Rally.
The event is a fundraiser for the Cancer Council.
David is leader of the "team Piston Broke" in this year's event.

David gave members details of the rally which has been held over the last 12 years with the exception of last year due to COVID-19
The entry vehicle has to be purchased for no more than $1000 and be roadworthy.
The event will leave Surfers Paradise on June 6, heading to the Gulf of Carpentaria and finishing at Alice Spring on June 11.
During the event the cars will travel on 50 per cent of unsealed roads and averaging 600 kilometres per day visiting outback towns.
While in these towns they help the local economy through accommodation etc.
As part of the event there are two dress up days adding fun to the event, which are used to support teams to assist breakdowns etc.
Nowra Croquet Club members presented David with donations towards his fundraising for this worthwhile cause.
