The Saturday, May 1 and Sunday, May 2 event will feature Australian soprano Lorina Gore for an afternoon of music and song.
Hosting Lorina has been a longtime coming for Arts in the Valley. She's not only an acclaimed Helpmann and Green Room Award-winning Australian soprano but also a Kangaroo Valley resident.
Lorina will be singing songs from all sources, not just opera, accompanied by eminent accompanist Robert Andrew Greene.
On Sunday, May 2, a distinguished quartet, drawn largely from Sydney Symphony Orchestra players, Andrew Haveron, Umberto Clerici, Lerida Delbridge and Justin Williams, will play a program of much-loved string quartets. Music of Schubert, Haydn and Justin Williams will be played by this engaging set of players.
The Kangaroo Valley Hall offers an intimate setting to enjoy world class music.
The concerts will be organised in accordance with prevailing NSW Health COVID Safe regulations.
About Arts in the Valley
Arts in the Valley holds a biennial arts festival in Kangaroo Valley. In addition, Arts in the Valley presents music concerts and visual arts events throughout the year.
Since 2007, Arts in the Valley has brought some of the finest musicians, artists and writers in Australia to Kangaroo Valley for our concerts, exhibitions and festivals.
Thousands of visitors have attended Arts in the Valley events and in the course of the festival many have visited Sculpture in the Valley, which has grown to be a significant show of sculpture.
Part of the charm of the valley lies in its location and many of the concerts have been held in private houses offering an intimate scale for music making. Sculpture in the Valley has also been held in a variety of private houses generously loaned for the occasion, often with views across the valley.
