The group desperately needed a new home and the final offer of assistance has come from Shoalhaven City Council. At a council meeting, councillors carried a motion to help AMTC investigate options which will now be the space at the Youth Building at the Nowra Showground.
President of AMTC, Laura Turner said the group is relieved to able to continue working on its upcoming production from its new home.
"We are grateful for the support we had from the media and responses from the public, including some offers for short term storage options and rehearsal spaces," she said.
"Our need was urgent and we were looking for somewhere we could finish off our sets for our junior production Alice In Wonderland to be staged at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre in the July school holidays."
Laura said the building has room to construct and store the sets and access is available until mid-July.
AMTC is hopeful it will be able to negotiate a longer term occupation for the building for upcoming shows Jesus Christ Superstar in November, Annie in April 2022 and countless more to come.
"Our musical theatre company has been around for more than 45 years and for a while our prospects seemed grim, but now we are optimistic about the future," AMTC Secretary Julie Fraser said.
"We have to give a big thank you to Garry Wilbraham, Gareth Ward, Fiona Phillips, Nina Digiglio, John Wells and to Shoalhaven City Council staff who gave us time and much-needed assistance."
