This week AWL has two adorable kittens looking for their new families.
Maddox is now five-months-old and one of the busiest kittens AWL has ever seen. He is afraid of nobody and nothing, happily running and chasing his carer's adult cats to play with them. He would love a friend but they will need to be either young and silly like him or a very, very patient older cat or dog.
He has a bit of a touchy tummy and gets a rather bloated tummy full of gas on some dried foods but he seems to be doing fine on his current grain free diet.
Maddox needs to be an indoors only cat preferably with access to an outdoor run. If he were to be left to his own devices outside AWL has no doubt he would be off following whatever bug or butterfly caught his attention, never to be seen again. For this reason he is also not suitable for a home with young children that may leave doors open.
Oddbod was born with a rib deformity that means he has no protection at the front of his chest so would not be safe to be outdoors. He doesn't let it bother him in the slightest though, running round like any other 12 month old cat. The only thing AWL has found is that due to the ribs that are there constricting his chest a little, he can get out of breath more quickly and needs to take more breaks than a regular cat would.
Sadly, Charlie and Tiger have not yet been adopted. However, the person who came to see six-year-old Charlie felt she wasn't old enough to be a mate for her senior cat and ended up adopting Shadow, one of AWL's ten-year-olds instead. The AWL Cat Welfare Officer had just mentioned that it is near impossible to rehome old cats and black cats. Shadow is both so she's proved to be a very lucky Shadow.
